6th(tie) : Inner Power

I often wonder what drives runners and jogger and where they get the inner strength and power to do what seems to me a painful and exhausting exercise. I walk ....... occasionally. :) :)

Andy this is for me is an extraordinary capture in every way. Well done!!!

In my youth I was quite a successful rugby player and 400m runner. In addition to sprint training I used to run about 30 -50km per week and in all honesty I detested every km of it. I've never understood the so called "runners high" for me it was wonderful when I stopped. That's probably the reason I no longer do it!

As a runner until my joints succumbed to the battering, I think this is a wonderful depiction of the "runner's high" which to me was an state of euphoria, or almost, combined with concentration and a sense of isolation among the surroundings. I've since read that it is an actual high induced by the elevated level of certain chemicals in the brain.. which for me could occur after around 2 miles but not always. -tv
