Thanks for the comments. I really don't know how this happened, as my flash shots are generally just "blown" or dark and muddy looking. Hence, I don't use the flash very often. This challenge will force me to do more with it.

Normally when you use the flash Debi it leaves a nasty shadow on one side of the subject. You can see the shadow to the left of the flower although this shadow looks fine & not nasty at all in this setting. The picy looks really good Mary Anne.
Talk about creative use of flash - so evocative and surreal. Good saturated colors with no flashy burnouts. Everything is transformed from a "natural" rendition of a clicheed image into an attention grabbing work of art. The background in particular has been converted from a sunny day's garden shot into a dreamlike echo of the foreground flower which seems suddenly startled from its mystical droopiness. -tv

Yes, its acceptable! I can see the shadow clearly...
That's the idea behind having this challenge so that we get used to using an important tool effectively...
