April 29, 2008 Mary Anne

Flower Box

Holyoke, Massachusetts

A car screeched to a stop while I was taking photos of the outside of this Pentecostal church in the rain. It was a news photographer on assignment to get some rainy day pictures. If I (not my photo, alas) make it into tomorrow's newspaper, I'll try to provide a link.

Finally - you made it! Maybe you could scan the article so we could see it anyway. Penny Street

This morning I was surprised to see the photo of me with my camera in the newspaper--5 days after the photographer caught me in the act. I was hoping there would be an online link, but no such luck!

Beauriful color study Mary Anne with contrasts between the blues and reds. The yellows cross over and tie it together. -tv

Thanks for the nice comments, folks. CJ, the photo of me did not make the cut. They went with one of a woman whose umbrella had blown inside-out during the rainstorm, which was probably more interesting.

Interesting color for a church but it made for a great image for you - nice one Mary Anne! Did you get your picture in the paper? CJ

lovely blue textures. It's funny how they painted all the way down to the sidewalk.

Yes all the elements align into a terrific picy. I love the colours & look of picys taken in overcast weather. Well taken & seen Mary Anne.

I like your decision to leave the brown wall in the picture. It adds depth and gives a sense of location. -COAmature

Does not really look rainy but I think that the clean air in the rain makes the colors look clearer. Well done, Mary Anne. Looking forward to the newspaper pic, I hope you'll make it. -Gerald
