Great help you're Tommy, if Caroles hubby reads your comments he won't agree to an upgrade:-) It's as you say Tommy as I think most of us are a bit disappointed at first with new gear as we seem to point it at any old thing thinking the new gear will do wonders but it always comes down to the person clicking the shutter. That's where great picys are made regardless of equipment used.
But us ahrtiiiiiiists do like to work wiv good brushes:-)

Great colors and layering Carole. Now don't waste too much energy coveting a 40D when evidence shows that it cannot improve your artistry. Just look at Rod's - same old (sometimes "brilliant") stuff. -tv

Yes print this up really big Carole & keep telling the ole man that if you had the 40D you could get the whole picy in focus..................And tell him the 40D is on special this week only, wot a bargain:-)

Thanks Penny and Rod.....it's not a new lens I want though, but the 40D!!!!!! :-D CJ

I definitely think you should hang it up (and make it an enlargement)!. Maybe he needs a chance to see it more so he can learn to love it!

Your husband is a heathen Carole:-) If he doesn't appreciate bokeh how will you talk him into getting you a new lens:-)

Thanks Julie, Mikey and Aam - I was thinking of making a print of this one but I have to tell you, when my husband looked at this he said "but the background is out of focus" - I just laughed out loud! :-) CJ

Thanks Sue Anne, Lydia, Rod, and Gerald. Glad you like it! Almost no PP on this one as I was experimenting with the in-camera settings which were set on high. :-) CJ

Simply beautiful, Carole, I love the blurred background, don't think that more DOF would be better. -Gerald

Very nice of the yellow and blue DOF. Beautiful !

Thanks Jano, Cat, Doug and Penny! The flowers are Blue Lupin and California Poppies, our state flower. They are just beautiful right now and I wish they would last a long time but many of them are already starting to go to seed. The DOF was natural as I was very close to the poppies but I actually thought I had more of the lupin in focus but it's difficult to tell on the little LCD screen of the XT. Spring will come Jano .....sorry about your snow! CJ
