Here she is running in the direction we read so she has room to flow into. If she were just standing, as I have her in another frame, she is standing on the right line of thirds. This is done because, once again, we are reading left to right so our eyes flow across the page and stop when they get to her. Since she is only standing, seh is not fighting the current. In the running image, she was running against the flow of the eye. Here, she is running with the flow which adds motion to the image and gives her space to run into. ~ Lonnit

I've never been able to sense the difference in composition left to right or right to left. Seurat believed that diagonal lines had different meanings from left to right or vice versus. I couldn't understand that either. -tv

No need. You can't help the feeling you got. That's what you sensed. Nobody can blame you for that nor expect an apology. :) ~ Lonnit

Ironic indeed. I feel embarrassed now :(

I guess staged would be if she were standing there pretending to be running. No, she was actually running! LOL! OH WAIT! No, this one wasn't at all even a requested run. I had her running in the opposite direction because I wanted her face to the sun. In this frame she was merely going back to the start point to do the run for me again. So, of all the shots in this series, this is actually the only candid. How ironic that you say it looks staged! LOL! ~ Lonnit

Looks a bit staged, sorry.

Yes, isn't it amazing how the flip makes or breaks the image? I had the kids running from left to right, face to the sun. Here she was running back to the start and I liked it so I shot. I loved how the sun played in her hair. The flip was a no-brainer, and it turned this late afternoon shot into an early morning. :) That horizon is tipping quite a bit more than just a bit! LOL! ;) Thank you all for commenting. ~ Lonnit

Lovely picture of your daughter Lonnit - the soft colors suit the image well. CJ

Good decision with the flip. It has really nice colors especially in her hair. Is the horizon tipping a bit though or is it me? -COAmature

Very sublte tones, fitting the ligh-hearted mood of the image. Lonnit, I mirrored your image for a try, the difference is almost unbelievable. -Gerald

Thank you, Julie. I have a beautiful and willing model who is a natural. :) BTW, the image has been horizontally flipped for improved composition. ~ Lonnit
