IN the US I think this instrument is called a dobro. I love this image as it is and I don't care about the D string. (BTW which one is it?) To me, the glistening metalic tones are gorgeously rendered and make enough twangy visual noise to qualify. Absolutely lovely bw. -tv

OK I will give that a try, thanks mate:-)

Rod, I like the subtlety. Only thing that may bring in that D string is an f10-12 to take the DOF out just a hair on the neck. I really like this shot, and wouldn't change the lighting! - angioman

Please comment when you think a shot isn't working Penny that's how we learn wot's good or not so good in our picys. The vibrating string needs a lot more prominence really for a sound topic a, I will try some differing shots to day as I must beat that girl Lydia:-)

I was afraid to comment because I didn't get the "sound" part, but now I know I just wasn't looking hard enough. Thanks for the clarification and I really like your photo!

PS. When the sun comes up I will try this picy again in natural light, this is just with the ceiling light directly above the guitar. I want to try & get that Lydia look into the picy:-)

Thanks Troy & Angio:-) I hope one of the girls notice the vibrating D string, just thought I would add some sound to the picy:-)hehe

Very nice Rod. Great subject for BW conversion! Reminds me of the Boston album (just flip it upside down:)) - angioman
