:-)hehe Don't worry Penny you say wotever you please, that's how we get to know each other. There's nothing nicer than looking at the nice picys here & having a good chat, controversy even:-) I think it was ole Socrates said that "a wise man is someone who knows what he doesn't know" A very wise observation init. I like that cos I know I don't know very much so I must be very wise:-) This saying doesn't apply to you girls though:-)

Rod is a very creative, funny man and there is no doubt in my mind that he knows way more than I do about most things. I guess I should be more careful with my comments. Sorry. Onomatopoeia happens to be one of my favorite words of all times - I should have just made reference to that.
Thanks, whoever you were, for your opinion on my comment. Penny Street

Now, Penny. Onomatopoeia used to be something only English poetry students knew about. Rod has been much more creative than English poetry students. Below is the usual definition.
1. the formation of a word, as cuckoo or boom, by imitation of a sound made by or associated with its referent.
2. a word so formed.
3. Rhetoric. the use of imitative and naturally suggestive words for rhetorical effect.

It's not my fault, I've led a sheltered life as a recluse artiiiiiiist:-)

Thanks again for the comments. An onomatopoeia is a word that is formed by spelling out a sound. Like buzz, whack, pow, splat... -Doug

Thanks for the comments. We were driving through our favorite outdoor mall (Southlands) and my 6 year old pointed out these onomatopoeias. I'm stumped again but working on it. -Doug

Brilliant, Doug! ~Lydia

This is clever init because we're trying to get sound picys wiv open mouths & running water etc whereas the written word can say sound too. Nicely done Doug the different shapes & tilts in the picy work great too.

whew!! it pays to be clever - nice photo.
