Charlie, please don't change this because of my comment. We've already seen that definitions of high contrast seem to vary from person to person. It's a great shot...so let the voters decide.

I can't imagine how this could be any better, Charlie. I am entranced. ~Lydia

I like the silhouette figures in the this scene with the hint of red too.

Thanks, Brent. Carkeek it was. Only a five minute drive South of my house. I was amazed at the number of father/son father/daughter teams out there last night, braving the very strong winds with a variety of kites.

Very good image of a nice Father & Son moment caught here Charlie. I'm guessing you shot this at Carkeek Park? Nice work.

Thanks, Mary Anne. I can’t tell you the name of the tree, or more likely it is a bush. It is between me and the platform on which they are standing. The platform, actually the top of a long staircase, is slightly above the level of the hill on which I am standing, and it overlooks a beach and the Puget Sound, perhaps 150 feet below them. I should have thought that a silhouette is, by definition, a high contrast situation. Should I go back and blow out the highlights some more, perhaps?

Really nice shot, Charlie. The sharply silhouetted figures of the father and son with the kite (and that wonderful red tail) against the OOF trees (?) behind them make for a very pleasing composition. I don't know that I would consider this high contrast, but I like it nevertheless...a warm feeling.

Thanks everyone. Who's the kid? Well I felt like one, out there playing with my camera, and watching all the dads "helping" with the kites.

I like this also, the stream of red is just enough color. Who's the kid here, the dad or the boy?
