This has an old newspaper image about it... wonderfully done and expertly exposed! I'm really in awe of this. Nicely done Brent jano

Laura Bush would not be seen in a town that doesn't make her "shine". I was watching part of a tv talk show the other day (I had the flu) that mentioned that the reason she looks so terrific is that she wakes up each day pretending that there's a giant mirror over her head and every now and then she looks up to make sure that she's happy with what she sees (seriously, I must have heard it wrong, but that's what I remember). I have been trying to decide if that would be a good idea to help my own self image. Penny Street
Oh - and the hail - that must be what made the trolley sparkle. Photographers will sit through anything for a shot.

Well well well Penny dear. If we are going to mention weather stories; I'll have you know that the ground was wet in my "Jolly Trolley" shot because it was covered with hail 30 minutes before I took the shot. So there! ;-) Truth is we did have a few nice days a couple of weeks ago, not that I could enjoy them working 70 hours a week :-( This is indeed the "bird" building (good eye), also known as the Westin Hotel. Bill Clinton used to stay there when he visited Seattle, George never bothers to sleep in our evil liberal town ;-)

ha ha ha. Well, now you know what we've felt like here on the east coast for the last couple of months while you've been posting your jolly trolleys!!!! Running out for the five minutes of sunshine (or worse - taking the day off when a sunny day is finally predicted!) has been the norm around here. But this building definitely competes with the ones I've seen on the cloudy-ish days in NY lately. (it's the same building you used for the birds?) This is a wonderful rendering of some lovely architecture.

Thanks all :-) Well I'm a little short of free time lately and there hasn't been an abundance of sun for contrast here these days either. So a 20 second sprint from the office to get this during the 5 second window of sun worked out well for me. Yeah that's real sunshine glaring off the left corner there, whoopee! :-)

Well done Brent! It does look like a canon or a rocket and it almost makes my neck hurt looking at this. Great leading lines, great sky, and I like that bright reflection from the sun on the lower left building. :-) CJ

Air rights are too precious in NY to allow for rounded skyscrapers, so we have fantastic reactions when we see one so well rendered in an image. I'm thinking of an HG Wells moonshot cannon just having been discharged with a residual hole in the clouds drifting away. Fun and excellently executed. -tv
