Thanks, Kiki and Rod. I'm glad I got this shot... most of the blooms froze last night. *heavy sigh* And my workload just lightened up that I was gonna go shoot it some more. Oh well... perhaps next year... *smile* ~Lydia

A joyous and adorable picture I tell ya! ;) Might perhaps look even better if the large flower was more off center to the left, but the magic is the universe in the background: The pattern the OOF blobs of color compose against the sky. Good use of repetition here, sets the focused flowers off well. And a lovely limited palette of near complementary colors, almost clean CMYK actually. Not my idea of HC but my views on that seem to be extreme.

I don't think this one needs a border though.. for once the peculiar background color of this page is agreeable with the colors in the pic.

Geez that is a fantastic tree then, make sure you explore all the different ways to shoot it. Our tree that flowers always has the leaves plus the bleeding parrots keep getting in the way:-)

Never, Rod? The tree is in our front yard. Come see it. I'll buy you a beer. :)
It's not PSd... (well besides the saturation and contrast and stuff), it really is a tree with no leaves and these blooms all over it. Breath-taking in real life... every time I see it.
Thanks, Mikey and Kiki. ~Lydia

A beautiful shot, but a very dainty contrast. Those colors do, but ever so lightly. Cheers, -mikey
