Composition is everything. Very well seen and shot!

I think the blue helps with the ascent into the sky. And in black and white, spiderman looks too secondary. That's my opinion.

Thanks, Tom and Jano! I have tried a b&w, higher contrast version of this but don't like it much and don't think it is much more high contrast than this is. I have put it in Pending if anyone is interested in comparing them. ~Sharon

So many things to like here. It also induces my fear of heights, which makes it a very effective photograph.

Great "lucky shot" then :) I think it would be easy to process this to a HC image, but some of its charm is the very elements that "ruin" the impression of it as a HC image: The high key/low contrast pastel tinted building.

Thank you, Kiki & CJ! That is what I thought. I will try a b&w version or move this to Pending later. Hopefully, I will find the time to do an actual high contrast shot before the challenge is over! By the way, thank you for the compliment on my "eye" Kiki, but I can't take any credit for this one. I was driving through downtown Boston and saw this guy way up there. When I came to a stop at a light he was not where I could see him, up and to my right, so I stuck the camera up against the windshield and aimed it in his general direction, being carefully about the tinting at the top, and shot. I only got off three frames before the light changed and this was one of them. I love it when "shooting from the hip", so to speak, works! ~Sharon

Although high key is high contrast, high contrast does not have to be high key, This particular image is not very contrasty to me and maybe if this was b/w and the grid lines of the windows were black, it would be a more high contrast image....to me. We probably all have our own opinions on this but regardless, this is a terrific image Sharon! :-) CJ

If you ask ME.. this has absolutely nothing to do with high contrast. A feature it shares with most of the other entries IMO, so in that respect it's well within boundaries.
It's a fantastic picture anyway, so "thanks for posting" :) Wonderful pastels, crop and lines. You have a very good eye.

But is it high contrast? Or are there not enough black values to make it qualify? What do you think? ~Sharon

Great leading lines to the window washer Sharon, and all that space below him really emphasizes the height of the building! CJ

Wow! I love this! The first thing that came to my mind was skating a curved rink of ..?? Great shot, Sharon! Cheers, -mikey.

Thanks, Debi, Rod, Tommy, Lydia and Penny! Lydia, you have saved me again! I have to stop working in the middle of the night. Yes, it was badly pixelated and the only way to get rid of it is to have a much softer image. So here it is with only the washer sharpened much and then only a little. Tommy, he does have ropes, the diagonal lines, but it is amazing isn't it?! And I wonder if he is leaving footprints on his freshly washed windows! ~Sharon

Spiderman? I don't know about that, but this is a fun (and scary) image. Great job!

Well composed, Sharon. I like the whole pattern thing you have going here. Is is my eyes or is the image pixelated a bit? I'm trying to focus on the lines to see... ~Lydia
