I'm really struck by the composition here - the glimmering gold is breathtaking

I have to add something about the magic of this shot. I am struck each time I look at it how powerful the diminutive figure of the child is within the otherwise cosmic landscape of mountains, sea and sun. -tv

Many thanks, everyone. I went to the park that day to get a shot of the sun setting over the Olympics. Once in a while, someone would walk along the beach and into my sights. This boy gave me the best shot that day. I think he was looking for shells along the shore, but he came across in this image looking like he was deep in contemplation of the universe.

I too enjoy sunsets if not just another cliché. The placement of the boy puts this in the top 10% and works well for me. -tv
