The shadows in this for the title are striking.

I love the tree shadows on the snow. The b&w conversion is great. jano

Thanks all. J.V. - I'm not very sophisticated and don't do much except desaturate, then use the usual tools - especially curves, dodge and burn - to extend the range of grays and give it impact. -tv

I think I like this one best because it seems calmer than the others. nice gentle curves and the glint of sun on snow. Less forbidding. Again perhaps reflecting your mood. These shots will be a good reminder of these days...claire

Thanks Rod. My mother died in 2000 and Pop was living with my sister who is an MD. Until his last year, he never missed his evening coctail, but quit smoking about 60 yrs ago. Montpelier is about 350 miles north of NYC. -tv

Yes excellent looking picy Tommy & a very sad picy too. I think if the grim reaper came for me at 90 I would make him my best friend:-) I would like to know some of your Dads secrets for such a long life Tommy, like what brand of cigarettes did he smoke & what brand of whiskey:-)
Is your Mum still alive Tommy? Hard to imagine losing someone after all those years together. Is Montpelier, VT very far from NY?

I really like this one. This is cool having this next to the apple entry because of the similar shapes. Do you do anything special for your BW conversions? - J.V.
