No, Claire. You were right. Thanks.
Kiki, I really like our two GS that we have now. So loyal and good family dogs. Thanks for your kind words about my image. ~Lydia

Dont change it just for me Lydia (althouh I must admit I prefer this title - implies more of a rugged, "I could roam anywhere and need to get home again" look which goes with the worn collar and wiry fur) See what happens when I get the other half home at the weekend to help with the kids - I come up with all sorts of rubbish!! claire

He wears the collar for his protection only. It has his rabies tag and a tag that tells humans how to contact me and get him home should he get lost. We have some land and he roams it freely with his cohort (another German Shepherd).

Thanks, Claire. That makes sense. I've renamed it. ~Lydia

I think we get exactly what you meant Lydia! Somehow seems a little sad though that the best friend has to wear a collar. Loyalty implied by title doesnt match the "bondage" of the piccy. Nothing against the shot - esp. love the texture of the fur - just nitpicking!!...claire

LOL, Doug. Not at all am I implying that. This is MY dog (although legally he belongs to my young son). He's really a great friend of mine. If I'm outside, he's by my side. And he doesn't leave it, no matter what. He prefers me, and I prefer him.
It was a play on "Man's Best Friend"... nothing else. *smile*
Perhaps I should rethink the name. Any suggestions? ~Lydia

Oh my Lydia. I hope your not implying that the collar is woman's best friend. I thought the leash my wife kept on me was bad enough. -COAmature
