Nonsense v.2

Inspired by Techo's great winning shot "Insence":

I've done some blowing smoke but this is my first attempt at shooting it. ";^D)
It works much better shot in lower ambient light.
I used three LED lamps to light the smoke which accounts for the blue color.

Thanks for commenting, folks. Rod, I had to "over process" to get the smoke to show up. The re-shoot in the dark made all the difference. I did have to hunt for "good" settings, as the cam didn't see anything in the dark ":^) Debi, the smoke isn't cut off. I would just blow it away and it would start over. This is the beginning of a "smoke-ring". Claire, I just got lucky on the shape that the smoke took when I pressed the shutter. I must have taken 30 shots and I liked this one best. Neo, I'll see if I can do something with that little bit of blown highlights. As I said, I was hunting for the proper settings, as the cam's meter drew a blank on this setup. Penny, I like the LED lighting, for the color, the low watts/heat and the ease of use for small, low-light setups. Cheers, -mikey

I see the genie too - and I hear the music in the background! This is great.
And thanks for the explanation about the lighting and the colors (knowledge is power - sometimes).

Nice!

I like this version much better. My only nitpick is the blown highlights in the yellow incense sticks.

what a difference. Like the colour in this one - and is that a Genie's face I see in the smoke?...claire

I look forward to the re shoot too as the smoke looks "dare I say" over processed:-)

this looks a very "manly" shot with its cool greys and blacks. V effective. Look forward to seeing results if you reshoot too. good luck...claire

I shot this during the daylight hours with a dark background and I'll try it in the dark tonite. I have a feeling that it will turn out better then. -mikey
