7th. English Eccentrics by clairet

Having found out in the last challenge who Diane Arbus was (someone who used stark lighting properly!) I felt I owed her a tribute attempt this challenge.

See http://www.artphotogallery.org/02/artphotogallery/photographers/diane_arbus_25.html for an example of her work.
She was famous for "direct photographs of people who lived on the edge of social acceptance"

So after a rummage in the dressing up box, this is what my two eccentrics came up with.

Oh my gosh - this is wonderful! They are soooo cute and what a great idea to imitate Arbus. (now there's a good topic for a challenge sometime - hint hint to whomever is listening)

needs to be in Exhibition as Diane Arbus didn't enter any CTF challenges (!!) but thanks for thinking of it...claire

I bet they loved it too. This will be a pic to remember - Debi

Looks much better. Good work.
I asked about the date so you can put it in Eligible. You know that the max entries per person per gallery is three.

You took it to the right spot - IMHO. Aam? Elips?
PSCS2 and PSP9 handle USM differently. Got them both, I'll try and remember which you use.

thanks for the comments and for the help. Good advice always welcome and very much needed! I have changed date and tried unsharp mask. Bit of trial and lots of error probably as numbers dont mean anything to me and dont know if they equate on my paint shop pro. Hope its better anyway...claire

Great little shot and two very sweet eccentrics you've got there. You could probably run it through a few rounds of USM to get even closer in lighting effect.. duplicate layer, then run Unsharp mask 3 times at something like 15/250, then 7/250, and then 250/0.2. Then set that layers blend mode to "Lighten". I'm no expert though (!!!) .. I just stumbled into "good advice" mode but don't trust me to know what I'm babbling about..
The "dressing up" box sure brings back some memories. Those were the days lol. Hilarious costumes :)

Cute indeed. Was it taken in Feb 2007 or 2008.
