this is sooo darling! If the little boy I was working with would have been less shy perhaps I could have gotten something as good as this! (As it was all we could get him to do is to "answer" the question "where is your little sister?") this is perfect! It's got expectation, but also he is looking to Mom for a sense of encouragement, it seems to me. Great shot!

This works so much better for me Claire the tummy looks like a tummy, no mistakes:-) Excellent picy.

I definitely prefer this. I wish I could explain why.

I have updated with smaller size and higher quality and also posted the colour version (still using flash I'm afair as cant reshoot!) in the hope that it may make it a little less harsh than b&w (JV)and make me look less like a big watermelon (Rod) or cheese (me)!. B&W version is in pending. Which do you prefer?...claire

Adorable shot, Claire. I hope you have this one hanging in big brother's room!

thanks for the comments guys.
Rod:Did try both cropping the black trousers out and "drawing" the tummy curve in but it looked even less like a tummy - it looked like a huge cheese! so have left crop/tummy as is.
JV: Will try and resave as advised and update- thanks

Excellent picy Claire well done megirl. The only thing I would change is wot looks like black knickers as the black knickers blending in with the black background makes the tummy look a bit less like a tummy if you know wot I mean:-) With the black cut off it sort of looks like it could be a water melon sitting on a table:-) Even though I did see it as a tummy on first viewing but if the curve of the tummy carried on down to the edge of the picy it would have a better line with no abrupt cut off. Still a lovely picy though:-)

I like this as much, if not more, than the original. Good work, clairet! ~Sharon

Cute kid. I can see how your were going for a sweet look. I think the on-camera flash with the black background, creates a stark look, and you loose a lot of the sweet mood you were going for. Also, this has some fairly distracting jpg artifacts. I'd suggest making it a smaller size and using a higher "quality" setting when you re-save it. - J.V.
