After Dinner

Apologies to all other vegetarians out there.
Life is too cold and grey for the live birds round here right now.

This could be in a cookbook Claire - Nice detail and color to the cooked "bird" ! CJ

It does have detail and color!

Yuck! Yet not all pictures should be pretty. I think this would work well at a weight watches meeting. Think I'll skip lunch today. -- Bruce

With all the live birds here, this takes on a kind of reportorial, gruesome feeling - like a forensic photographer might take at a chicken dinner. The stark lighting (flash?) and fine details enhance the effect. -tv

thanks for the comments JV. All useful. The whole chicken was a funny shape after dinner so thought I would go for something more abstract - and as a veggie, didnt really want it to be appetising!! All things to think about though so thank you. - claire

The best thing about this picture is that it is the only one like it in the challenge. Good job thinking outside the box, and coming up with an unusual composition. It is also well exposed and has a sharp focus. Since the crop is so tight, the chicken isn't in any context though. Also, the up-closeness doesn't make the chicken look appetizing to me (although I'm sure it was). - J.V.

As a vegetarian myself I can confirm it was a free range chicken which had a good life. Please let me have any comments to improve my photography skills -I am a complete beginner so every little helps! - claire

well, I am not a vegetarian... but I do love birds, hm, so I guess, this will be a very controversial shot :-)
