Many thanks for all the comments. I was pleasantly surprised at how this turned out, esp. considering it was hand-held at 1/15 sec. Who knows...maybe a bit of camera shake added to the effect. In any case, I think WB was at Auto, and paramaters were probably set with contrast and sharpness all the way to the right, saturation halfway to the right, and color tone all the way to the left (or possibly right in the middle). To be perfectly honest, it's only because of this challenge topic that I've begun looking at parameters, so I'm finding it to be a wonderful learning experience.

This is such an awesome image..... Interesting color.. and has that "old look" about it. Kudos! jano

Well done! A very sharp and contrasty image with the kit lens. Did you increase the in-camera settings to get this result? Nice lighting and comp too! :-) CJ

I like these older style seats where the footrest is not on the chair but part of the counter. I guess I just old fashioned. Of course when you sit down it is important to spin around once to make sure you got a good one. You captured the silver very well. John

LOL! I was just thinking how a little touch of Lucis would be the perfect finishing touch! :) It's very nice, great color, just needs a little special sharpening. ~ Lonnit

Beautiful!! Mary Anne!!
I like the looks and the color saturation that you got just out of the camera. I don't think it needs any further processing. and I think you can pass on the camera settings to Lonnit ;-) ;-) so she can get this look right out of camera and will not have to do any extra PP to her shots ;-)

You know, a couple of people were coming in and they politely waited while I was crouched down in their way trying to frame the image just so. The light was a combination of outdoor and fluorescent, which probably contributed to the pp look. It's a great diner with a lot of character...and characterS.

We have a restaurant with these seats, brings back good ole memories.
Fun to see the people sit on these though...... :)

Nice warm colors & bright shiny steel. I can smell the burger & fries.

This is great. It does have Lonnit characteristics. A nice PP look straight from the camera. Very well done. -COAmature

Brent, this diner (the Miss Florence Diner) is a local landmark that has been around for many years. It's been the subject of many photos and a good number of paintings as well. It has the usual lengthy diner menu, jukeboxes in each booth, counter service, and a fun ambiance. I'm glad you liked it.

Great Mary Anne! Done really well and what a cool place. Is this an old diner that has been there for quite some time?
