Thank you Cat and Doug for your comments. Of course those are not cherries - but I don't know their botanical name nor their regular common name... I was attracted by the beautiful red. The background is a concrete wall some 5 meters away.

Nice and bright!! Looks like Nandina berries to me but I could be wrong. These generally grow may be 4' tall. Bright red stands out against the pale background, which I guess is a concrete walkway.
