Thank you, Troy. Usually, I convert from color to sepia in post-processing, but of course I had to handle it differently for this challenge. I went into Parameters and found the b/w mode and then selected sepia. I lowered the saturation a bit and increased the sharpness in camera. I'm glad you enjoyed the shot.

I really like the tone of this and must ask a stupid question. What settings do you use on the camera to get this kind of result? The cat is certainly beautiful and you brought it out very well.

CJ, Sausages certainly is an unusual name for a cat. One of our sons named her (a long story behind that), and we inherited her when he moved out of the country. She's a sweet sociable girl...part Maine coon cat, we think.

Love that piercing look from Sausages, and what an odd name! The tones look great for this image too Mary Anne. CJ

Very nice Mary Anne, that right eye really pulls you in. Sausages looks like a great cat.

Tommy, Sharon, Cat, and Doug...I'm glad you liked it. Image is not as sharp as I had hoped, but I suppose I couldn't have kept it under 150k if it was!

Fantastic shot Mary Anne. I couldn't help but to stare at it for a bit. -COAmature

Wow! I completely agree with TV and Sharon's words. In addtion, the centered eye is catchy enough not to let the attention wander over to the left side in the photo. My attention always lingers around the centered eye and moves towards right scanning the face of the cat. Very successful portrait :)

Ahhh, Sausages is darling and sepia suits her! The composition seems fine to me and is highlighted by her fur coloring. An out of the ordinary portrait indeed! ~Sharon

I like this shot a lot,, but maybe not for the intended effect. By centering the right eye, it takes on a disproportionate prominence that is enhanced by being lighter and seemingly larger than the left eye in relative shadow. The result is an eery effect that takes this shot way out of the ordinary. Lonnit might like it for breaking the rules about centering. -tv
