Thank you, CJ! ~Sharon

Another great SP Sharon! Very intense look - I feel like you're staring right at me! Nice toning too. :-) CJ

Thanks, Kiki! I have that same over saturation effect on one of my monitors as well. I usually check that monitor before posting too but didn't this time. It looks normal on this laptop monitor. So does that mean the image is off or the monitors are? In any case, I appreciate your insightful comments! ~Sharon

Nice light and comp. You're very good with light in those dark images. Your thumb is almost making for an optical illusion here, becoming like an extension of the nose. And when "seen" like that, the top of the cup almost floats in the air, like a lens -shaped.. something :) Sharon-magic :)
Not too keen on the "out-of-camera" sepia.. it's twice as saturated as I like it. Maybe my monitors. On one of them, your eyebrow here almost looks green compared to the highlight on the forehead above, which has a more pinkish look. It's the lack of blue in the eyebrow region that's causing that impression, according to the PS eyedropper tool. Hmm. Anway.. good picture.. could easily be used as an illustration - ample space for text in the void dark on the right side.

Great job with the light source. I'm sure many of us have tried to achieve this look with PS and you did it without. Nicely done Sharon. -COAmature

Pretty nicely done Sharon, and a fine example of "I can produce great photos with or without PP" :) I am always amazed by your ability to compose SP images even when you don't have access to viewfinder. I guess you are as good in front of the camera as you are behind it :)

Well done Sharon! - I keep expecting something to be coming from your eye into the cup - LOL! - Kelly

Thanks, tv! You nailed it, especially the cerebral activity part! Don't I wish! *grin* ~Sharon
ctfchallenge06-Jan-2008 02:11
This has a very natural and spontaneous feeling.. the slightly out-of-focus eye helps and with focus on the brow implying cerebral activity as if contemplating the cup. -tv

Thanks, Mary Anne! I like this lens a lot and, yes, it can focus this close if it is racked all the way out. I have never used the kit lens so I am not sure what the difference would be. ~Sharon

I'm amazed that you were able to focus that close with that lens. One of the advantages of the IS over the kit lens? The sepia is also nice.

Thanks, Brent! We could have a tea party! ~Sharon

Very nice Sharon! I think the focus of the eye is fine- nice mood created here. I didn't realize until after I just posted a shot with a cup as content too that this fine image was here- hope there is room for another cup? ;-)

Thanks, Gerry, Rod, Debi, John and Penny! It was fun figuring out what sort of image might look good with no pp. Does it bother anyone that the eye is out of focus? ~Sharon
ctfchallenge05-Jan-2008 16:55
Very nice!

I too like that you were able to black out the other eye with just exposure alone. John
ctfchallenge05-Jan-2008 08:30
I like the way one side is in shadow hiding an eye - Debi
Rod 05-Jan-2008 08:28
Very well done Sharon it's not easy to get a mood without PP but you have here. Itsa goodun:-)
