I think it's not so easy to take a good picture where the shadows comprise half of it and are dispersed almost equally among the objects like this.

This is in total contrast to your earlier cityscape. It looks like you trying to make a statement by digging into the heart of the city, where the heights and the depths, brights and the shadows. corners and flat surfaces, streets on the ground and open sky play a vital role in creating a unique impression on the mind.

Thanks all. This is from the 31st floor where I work, normally cooped up with two PCs in my little workstation. But just over the divider is this view. The S70 has a 28mm (35mm film equivalent) wide zoom which I use a lot. (Or maybe I should say "had" because it doesn't turn on since I dropped it yesterday. Looking on eBay now for a replacement.) -tv

The vertical distortion really adds to the shot, Tommy. Maybe this challenge will prompt all of us to go back to our G series and other P & S cams. It's been forever since I've handled mine.

Wouldn't this be some kind of picture if the great shadow could be on a white building like the one in back. Still nice use of the lens distortion. Hadn't realized this before but your tall buildings can really bring out the vertical distortions. John

I like this one too Tom but it might look even better either with some cropping of the tops or more of the tops of the buildings showing........I think! But then what do I know about taking "city" pictures! ;-) CJ
