Snow Grid

Following rules have been broken:
Attention-getting subject
Emotional impact - grabs the viewer
Positive or negative response
Universal theme (intangible - ie. mother's love)
Principle of thirds

Does it work? I'd say that the repeated pattern of the fencing and the monochromatic color palette (no, it hasn't been converted to b & w) give a quiet, restful quality to the image.

OH MY - someone actually did break the rule of thirds? LOL! Ok the midline of the second row of hexagons is right on the line of thirds, but it's not enough to call it use of the rule! Congratulations! LOL! You're dang lucky too, b/c I do not accept your attention-getting subject - it is. Emotion... hmmm, there is the element of surprise here. Surprise is an emotion. At first I thought it was snow on a tile floor, but then I thought them too bright to be tiles and so I though mirrors? Then I wondered why it piled so globically. Then, suddenly, the DOH! moment came, and I realized it was a vertical fence! So, I rode the emotions of confusion through surprise! I certainly had a positive response in my surprise. I like fun surprises! Universal theme - well, universal to those who know snow. So, the only saving grace for you is the rule of thirds - the rule that killed everyone else's claims turns out to be your savior! You're qualilfied, darlin'! ~ Lonnit

I think it's great. I like the lack of color & the varied pattern of the snow on the wire.
