5th Place "Horse" By Bruce Jones

Jacksonville, FL

overexposed, motion blur . . . etc. etc.
Reason: Well the horse was coming at me before I could set the exposure with the spot meter and therefore . . . she was ghastly overexposed. In other words, it was an accident.

OK OK OK OK. The overexposure isolates the horse. I guess.

Canon PowerShot G9

other sizes: small medium original auto

Very cool, Bruce. Both motion blur and high key effect from overexposure works great.
Cheers!

Nice recovery, darlin'! It works - love the effect. Happy accidents are wonderful things. One of my favorite images, one of my most artistic, was an accident. I simply could not part with the image into the trash can. I tried, but couldn't do it. I played with it and was thrilled with the result and it came to win a ribbon. Breaking the rules doesn't always have to be planned, it simply needs to be recognized once you have the image in your possession. :) Qualified! ~ Lonnit

Nicely broken Bruce! But your defense needs more focus. Confession of the accident is less purposeful than your excellent decision to include this image - swiftly though, the Queen Mother stirs! - Kelly

Jeez did you get bumped? I was going to say that this seems effective technique for isolating the horse from the distracting background. Well, I guess that's why you opted to show it.. -tv

Bruce, this is a great image. Explain why you made it a great image so it can stay in the challenge. To me the legs and body are comfortable but the head is threatening me ... it even has a little motion blur making me think he wasn't paying attention to me but he has risen his head and questioning my presence here now.
