Thank you for commenting John, tv and Tony.

TV - the water is actually boiling and was setup on a back packing camp stove.

Tony - yes, the sauce pan was sort of amber in color. The makeshift light table was a cantilevered sheet of white acrylic over some work lights. The 580 flash was attached to the camera aimed at the ceiling. The best behind the scenes shot of the makeshift light table (shown below) was taken during another challenge - "Being Backlit" - Kelly

Lovely! I wanted to do something like this, but didn't have the equipment, and I certainly would have had a hard time getting the drops you got. I love the lighting and the usage of the glass as a condenser. : ) I would like to know more about the lighting, how you managed the warmer colors in the pan, was that because the pan is made up of a warmer colored glass?

You must be a scientist to have thought this on through so well. Are those ice cubes in the mix.. or just bubbles? Terrific execution and a major contender. -tv

Nice job catching the drop and the next to fall. I like how the boiling water turned out. Very on topic. John

This is not just change, but also change in progress. You see not only steam, but also the making of steam (i.e., nucleate boiling). You see not only water, but the making of water (i.e., condensation). If there were a separate vote for “most effectively conveying the nature of the topic,” this would be a sure winner.

Wonderful idea and well done Kelly! I can see you put a lot of thought and effort into this and it paid off. :-) CJ

p.s. Kelly, it looks like this image is oversize 167KB, please resize it before the deadline!
you're right, it's tougher to capture change in a more dynamic way, more difficult than I originally imagined. I'm glad you are finding the challenge interesting, and I look forward to seeing your other ideas! - b.c.

Thanks Debi and b.c. - For me this has been a difficult challenge in so far as conveying something other than " a mere moment in time". Don't get me wrong b.c., I think your challenge to create an image that "conveys the meaning of change" has been most interesting and I still am working on other ideas that may see the light of day. - Kelly
