One of the local churches puts on a living nativity each year. Visitors are invited to sit in on a synagogue lesson, walk through the village of Bethlehem (complete with Roman soldiers, a cobbler, weavers, storytelling, a potter, a spice merchant, the Holy family, wisemen, and village children all dressed in period costume), and then visit the animals (camels, donkey, sheep, and chickens) in the yard.
This little village girl was scared of the chicken at first but eventually her mother talked her into holding it. I don't think she ever put it down again.
