Lovely scene Brent, and a nice contrast between the living and dead trees! CJ

No we didn't take the hike to the falls.. too much of a hurry. We did our hiking on the Kalalau Trail on the coast the day before. The kids didn't want to do any more walking after that. -tv

Thanks B.C., I'll be scraping frost off my car too in just a couple of days back in Seattle I expect.
That's great Tommy, I think your tree in pending is indeed the same one as here only almost dead back then. Hmmm, in August you probably didn't see the large water fall either?

Incrediblely clear view; great panoramic. In August, 2000, it was all rain and mist. I think I caught the same less worn tree on that trip. (see Pending) -tv

very nice. too bad about the waterfall! now I'm really envious, as this week I've had to start scraping the frost off the car in the a.m. I suspect this place deserves a try with some stitched panorama shots - b.c.

Thanks Brent. Kauai is near the top of my must visit list ... we went all over the big island 10 years ago. Lots of people tell me Paris, Rome, etc. but my list is too long with places like this. I guess I am just a nature guy at heart. John

Thanks Doug and John- location updated. We were expecting to see an 800 foot waterfall at the end of this hike that turned out to be dry, but we still got some pretty nice views. This is looking west out of the canyon, the ocean is off in the distance.

Brent, outstanding scenery like this needs to have its location field filled out. Where is it? John
