Nice isolated looking shot. The bucket under the sink looks full. Looks like a hotel I lived in for 3 months in Flagstaff, Az. I worked downstairs running the camera store. It was from the 1900's so it only had one pair of showers to a floor. They put sinks in the halls by the showers so that they could alleviate some of the morning conflicts. If fact, when I faked being sick one day to go play in Oak Creek Canyon, the owner told me how disappointed he was in me and that he was thinking selling the store to me one day. I instantly woke up at 26 and said this isn't what I am going to do with my life and quit a month later to go back to college to become an engineer. Funny how things fall into place. John

Thank you all for your positive comments. This is in an old factory building in Florence, Mass., that has been mostly converted to artists' spaces. It's now called the Arts and Industry Building, and they held Open Studios this past weekend. Of course, I couldn't take photos of the art work, but there were lots of interesting view of the hallways, windows, and stairs. I just love going through these old 19th century factories with camera in hand.

Everything in the picture brings me to that mysteriously placed sink including the drapes opening towards it. -COAmature

I like this... All muted except for the curtain... The sparseness of it all... WHY is there a sink in the hall?? ~Lydia

I really like this Mary Anne. The lighting, exposure & composition (intersecting pipes above, horizontal pipes below the window & vertical floor boards), make a nice visual out of bare essentials.
