Low-Tech

These components have been cluttering my parts bin for the past ~20yrs.
The highest-tech part here is a 1kx4bit (i.e half a kByte!) SRAM.

Bonus points to anyone who remembers the resistor colour code (curiously, I do)

Canon EOS 40D ,Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM
1/60s f/8.0 at 60.0mm iso400, off-camera flash full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Very cluttered and colorful mess Tom! :-) CJ

No you can't crop it, I was more thinking to throw more transistor thingys over the blue wotsit:-)

tv - yes you're right it's a high value capacitor, I forget what kind, but it's big flat blue thing :) thanks for the comment. Rod I tried some other crops but on 2nd thought I can't eliminate it without losing some other elements I want in there. - b.c.

The blue that bugs Rod could be a large capaciter, based on my limited knowledge from building "hi-fi" speakers 20 yrs ago. The image has a visually pleasing variety of colors and shapes in a messy clutter that would be difficult to duplicate with different objects. The wires form a contrasting matrix of monochrome clutter. Well executed. -tv

nice colourful clutter, Debi

thanks Rod and other-fellow-techie-who-didn't-sign-your-name :)
re: lower R corner, I was a little worried about that too, it's a large blue component (capacitor) that I included in the shot for colour but because of its size didn't want it to dominate the frame. I thought the diagonal component leading in would compensate for the big space. meanwhile I didn't want to lose the red alphanumeric LED in a crop (lower center). I will try modifying the crop a little and post later... - b.c.

Great Idea! and lots of colour.
Unfortunately I remember the resistor colour code and can recognise the LEDs, Electrolytic Capacitors, Diodes, Resistors and Darlington Transistors in this image :( I've obviously taken work too seriously in the past! ;)

I wouldn't even know wot a resistor is B:-) Apart from the bit of blue bottom right corner this works quite well a:-)

I'm still having a tough time getting the literal meaning of clutter out of my mind for this challenge. hopefully this shot is suitable as well as interesting to the eye... - b.c.
