Thanks, CJ, Tommy & John. John, I took this shot in late afternoon and the tree was completely in shadow, so I used the built-in flash (even tho the EXIF says No Flash Used) to fill the tree with a bit of light so some grain detail would be evident in the image. Outstanding demonstration of how to make the great western outdoors seem cluttered, even claustrophobic. The bit of sky on the left does not detract from the closed feeling because of the tree's massive presence blocking escape from the main part of the frame. Beautiful realization of the esthetics I have so haphazardly been describing. -tv
