Very clever, and well done! I think it would have worked equally well without the addition, the walkway would have acted as an entry and lead the eye into the shot..where it would have soon be overwhelmed by all the distractions and clutter throughout the frame :)

Swearing at me in Latin now.............Your going to be very busy on Sunday:-)

Bruce, you're just too good with PS. I would never have suspected that this is a composite. And perfect placement or not, the guy really completes the picture, esp. with the red cooler against the spots of green. (Please don't tell me you added those as well!)

Now I don't regret mentioning the "perfect" placement of the guy.. bad Bruce. But I'll let it be up to Rod. This is going to be fun. -tv

Cheating again eh Bruce! :-D I must admit the guy adds a lot of interest to this shot - we'll wait for Rod's response! CJ

Thanks guys!

But I gotta make a confession: this is a composite.

When I shot the marina it looked like this:

Seems empty. Hmmmm. The I see this guy:

He would fill the scene just right. Right? Right Rod? Right? Hello?

In my vision of this topic, this is about as perfect as I expect to see of this type: a cluttered scene compressed by telephoto technique into a melange of abstracted shapes and random details standing out here and there. And yet the result is a cohesive mix of overlaid superpatterns of the marina shapes and shadow-highlight conglomerations. And the G9 manages the dynamic range beautifully. Outstanding. -tv

Nice busy marina shot Bruce and the bits of color here and there move the eye around the scene, and it would probably still look good in B&W too. Well done! CJ
