Thanks for your comments. Yes this is a very large tree trunk. Here is a view of it from a lower angle:



I left the left edge in as it was the left boundary of the tree, but I can see it does not add interest and will re crop it!
Techo that was a good observation! ...It had been cropped and perspectively corrected to keep more interest in the frame.

RK saw it first and I agree. But that is a small point that shouldn't detract from the fact that this is perfect for the topic and a welcome find. Cluttered with contrasting forms and textures, all within one treetrunk. I wish we were in a different topic so I could ask to see the whole tree with scale to appreciate its size and age. Well done.
