The fruit is real. Or I should say, it was * wink *. Thanks for the comments.

I really like the flash bits. Makes the fruit look plastic. Not that plastic fruit is as good as fresh... *smile*... just it adds interest to the shot.. It looks real, but is it really? The flashy spots make one pause and consider. I like it. ~Lydia

Quick entry Charlie. You may be able to lesson the flash reflections in PS. You found a bowl full of color. -COAmature

Good idea Charlie and maybe next time if you move the bowl over to the window for some natural light it would add some shadows and texture to the fruit or maybe take a picture of the whole breakfast table. If yours is anything like mine, it will be plenty cluttered! :-). CJ

Thanks, tv. I actually had thought that I could increase the “clutter factor,” by pulling the grapes off the stem, and mixing everything up in the bowl. Unfortunately, that thought occurred to me on the bus ride to work. LOL.

As to coincidences, this morning was the first time in many, many years that I had fruit for breakfast. This stuff was just leftovers from a camera club meeting.

Wonderful coincidence. It would have been a shame to lose this into your gullet before capturing it for the challenge. "Clutter" very nicely satisfied, and marginally just enough variety of color and shape among the objects despite their association as kinds of fruit. I would have drawn the line at all the same kind, e.g. grapes only. Contrasting groups of color and shapes provides good compositional interest. Becasue of the reflected translucence from the bright frontal lighting, there is a greater sense of depth than I would have expected from using flash. However, there is a slight harshness that results from it and from some sharpening artifacts, that don't distract from the rich colors and clutter. -tv
