Let's define "clutter" as crowded with many objects, but not NECESSARILY a mess. This image and other clutter will flatten and hang together better if uniformly sharp. The focus blur or bokeh seem to add a visual messiness that makes the whole too sloppy. -tv

I don't know why looking at this I don't see clutter , maybe I see mess. Hang on Clutter & mess are the same..........Buggered if I know:-)
