This is the common Texas thistle found most anywhere in the North Texas region during fall. Even though I have walked by them hundreds of times, I never noticed the little blue pods before. This is about a mile from my house -- very few fields left now. The balloon festival had so little wind that they didn't have the mass launch they usually have. I waited around since sunrise to take the shots going over but almost nothing. So I looked down and saw this.
