My Vivid Memory*

Singapore

A snapshot of my son as he was coming out of the tunnel slide at our Science Center indoor playground - always happy to see me there at the end of the tunnel....

I have to say that this shot is my "one in a million" as I wasn't expecting a sharp image due to bad indoor lighting and his speed coming out of the slide; and he certainly wasn't expecting me to take the shot either.

This is definitely a vivid shot in mind.

Excellent, fun frame exudes playfulness for an active kid. Treasure these times for they whisk by all to quickly. -tv

Thanks, Sue & COAmature for the lovely comments.

Honestly speaking, my son was the very reason why I got my my first digital camera (which was the G3) in the first place and in fact, about 2 weeks before he was born. He's 4 1/2 now, and the S5IS is my 7th digital camera to date, and I have collected over 19 DVDs of photos & movie clips. Simply unbelievable.

I've loved photography since I was very young, but life was difficult then to even be able to afford one. The digital era really changes the world of photography and makes it affordable and easier for everyone now...:-)

Very nice smile and like the big red tunnel.

Love the shot, love the title. It's a great reminder of why I love photography. As much as I like these challenges sometimes they make me forget why I have a camera. -COAmature

Thanks, theFly, for the constructive criticism. You were right actually, I did want to crop out the sides a bit focusing on the tunnel totally as background, as that will nail it down to the challenge's theme.

But again, I really did like this shot and prefer it to be as it is, with some orange and green in the background. I've done no cropping at all on this one and just wanna share my original experience (shot) with everyone.

Yus,

Have you considered just cropping so the background was only the red tube. I think it would make a stronger entry. Just a thought.
