Thanks Rod, Doug, Sue Anne, Abs and Barry. I thinks I'll leave this one as I do like the motion blur. And Abs, it makes a bit of a whirring sound as it spins around, but not much really. ;-) CJ

Great shot CJ! Well seen and well captured!

this is a cool looking thing. does this thing make any sound like windchimes? i like the way you have captured the motion. -Abstract

Beautiful and it does looks windy there.

They both work CJ. The color and motion make your subject stand out. -COAmature

The one in pending looks great too, a hard decision. I think I would go wiv this one. Well done megirl:-)

Thanks Rod, I rather liked the motion blur too although the colors are more vivid on the one in pending without the blur. I also liked the tree - if only I had a 4 foot wide tree as background! ;-) CJ

The blur really plays tricks wiv the eye & helps to reinforce vivid, well done Carole. I think it would have looked stunning if the dark tree was the only background.

Thanks Neo, I'll replace this tomorrow with the version in pending after a re-edit. CJ

I was hoping someone would crop out the Rod :-D
CJ - I like the colors better in the pending version.
ctfchallenge08-Aug-2007 21:16
OK, I cropped out the Rod ;-) and I'll put one in pending with a faster shutter. What do you think? CJ

Agree with Tom. If you crop that rod it will be better. While you at it, you can crop Rod mate too :)

Nice composition and exposure for a motion shot. Those amazing colors stand out very well against even the colored background. I would have been tempted to crop out the rod and let is hang from the frame... but that's my wierd taste always playing with the edges. -tv

Aam, this is sometimes called a "Whirligig" or "Windsock" and is made of fabric vanes placed in such a way as to catch the wind and rotate like a windmill. It's probably hard to see the vanes because of the motion blur (blurred on purpose to show movement!). This one is hanging from a rod in a tree but others can be put on stakes in the grass. They come in many designs and I'm looking for a Loon one now for our yard. ;-) CJ

What kind of a balloon is that, CJ. It looks different. Is it made of glass (doubt it).
