Great colors, lighting and composition Barry! I like how your DOF focuses on the two "opponents"! ;-) CJ

Thank you Abstract and Neo!

That is a cool chess set, and an even cooler photo. I love the DoF and the way you composed the shot.

this is a beautiful chess board and equally good shot. like the 3D effect. -Abstract

Thanks Brent! You are correct about the board! It is clear acrylic and the "squares" are screen printed on with the effect you're seeing! It doesn't help me play chess any better but it is a cool set :-)

Very nice Barry. Some of the dots have an interesting textured look to them. It doesn't look like a bokeh effect, is there a patterned fabric like texture to the game board

With so many details in the photo it will be a challenge to increase the dimension yet be under file size limit. You might be better off keeping it as it is.

Thank you Rod and Yvonne!

Aam, I see what you mean looking at the pic from my computer at work where I have the screen resolution set high to maximize the number of columns I can see on my excel spreadsheets. I think the easiest fix to the problem is for you to lower you screen resolution! :-) Seriously, I'll try to look at it tonight and see if I can increase the dimensions while keeping under the size limit without the quality suffering too much.

This does have a nice look to it well done Barry.

Very cool, Yvonne

Hi Barry. By small I mean what we see in our screens. Photo dimension is 550x367. That's a bit too small if you ask me.
Guest 03-Aug-2007 02:22
Thanks COAmature (or rather it's Doug isn't it?)!
Guest 03-Aug-2007 02:20
Thanks Sue Anne! This is what you get when you let an artist design a chess set! :-)

Thanks Aam! How do you mean too small? It is almost up to maximum size now (141KB vs. 150KB) or are you saying you would like to have seen a close up of one piece rather than the larger section of the board?
ctfchallenge03-Aug-2007 02:20
Nice and colorful Barry. The lighting works well. -COAmature
aam1234 03-Aug-2007 02:10
Very nice. But it's a bit small to see.

Nice - What is the name of this game? (Chinese checkers?)
