Ok - Brent / Jano - I did abit more pp without trying to lose the original look :)
Thanks for the tips.

Nicely done Sue Anne. It wouldn't take much work if you were to possibly clone and maybe lighten the distracting elements (for me anyway) of the print on his shirt as well as the dark areas created by his sleeves. Still very nice as is :-)

Thank you, all the pp work, Jano - you give me quite a chore. ;)
This is really a tight crop from the original without chopping off too much.
and I still love that matte paper when I get prints. . .

I like this for a portrait in this challenge. I think a tighter crop on the left is almost impossible, so (if me) would clone some of that other detail out at the very far left all the way down. I think a crop from the bottom is possible. I like the light on the hair and the light capture in the eyes. A few stray hairs around his year could also be cloned. Of course, this is only if you wanted to print this at some point in the future. I think (again if me) I would keeping this one as a family heirloom. :) jano

Very nice and straightfoward portrait. Hmmmm . . . maybe a tighter crop? -- Bruce

Effective use of noise emulates the old portrait textured matte paper that was so popular. (maybe pros still use it..) Nice tones and detail where needed. -tv

I wonder! Would a very fine white line around the image help to frame it a bit? In the thumbnail, the left-hand edge kind of falls away but a tiny white line might make a difference in the overall presentation. I hope you don't mind me saying so. (My critique is insignificant against your outstanding image!!) shu

Great shot of Josh showing butter wouldn't melt in his mouth, I bet he's holding a catapult:-)
Well done Sue Anne & a great looking model.

The grain punctuates the intense mood of the little fellow. Very nice, Sueanne!! shu
