OK, reprocessed the RAW to lighten the sky a bit. That made such a mess of it, tho, I had to run Noiseware on it to get rid of the banding and "bad" noise. Then, I added back in the "good" noise. Hopefully this rings all the chimes that it needs to ":^D Thanks again for all your nice comments. Cheers, -mikey

Thanks for the comments and critiques, y'all. Tommy - Its posted in Pending. I'll have to reprocess the RAW image, cuz when I added the grain to the sky the blue parts were "nasty" with the stuff if I didn't go all the way to "black". Me thinks this is kind of an "unnatural" thing we're doing, this graining-up stuff. It just doesn't seem like something I really want to do. My camera doesn't want to and I kind of have to "push the river", if you know what I mean. Cheers, -mikey

Mikey, pls repost the original in Pending so I can remember what I loved about it. Now I think the sky is exaggerated in its blackness. I guess you "can't please all the people all the time"... so "carry a big stick". -tv

Very cool conversion Mikey! The grain really does add to this image- in a good way.

Well, let's try this for grain. Sorry, Tom, no more amber, color either. Cheers, -mikey

Very nice! The amber tone is great.

Addendum .... as I was pondering,..... i think a conversion to an Ansell type b&w shot would fit the topic perfectly. Yes, it has potential for that. :) jano

I know there is grain in the field and you added pp grain... but is it what the host intended for a topic? I'm not sure. I love the depth of the clouds you captured here. I can totally understand you're not wanting to grain it up. Perhaps this photo isn't right for grain? I'll ponder some more. jano

Hi Yvonne, .. Glad you like the shot and no the grain is all in the field, honest I added a lot but there was so much already there that its hard to see. I couldn't bring myself to put grain in the sky, tho; it just didn't seem right. ";^D Cheers, -mikey

This shot does not seem grainy to me, but I love it! Yvonne

Thanks, Tom. I have to admit, tho the grain is as high as it was, i.e. no PP work on altitude, I did add some grain to the grain. I also got it ready to harvest, like making it 'amber', as well ":^) Funny, tho, the grain in the grain doesn't look grainy at all, it just looks like grain, like you say, wheat. I couldn't bring myself to add grain to the sky. Who would believe floating wheat? Cheers, -mikey

I like the wheat grain Mikey. Never saw it so high in the sky before. Beautiful. -tv
