Heron *

Birch Bay State Park, WA.

We were sitting by the fire at our camp site,
when this heron flew by, sat on this tree,
and stayed for about ten minutes. It came by
again the next night.

1/250s f/7.1 at 190.0mm iso200 full exif

Can't tell if this is doctored, but it is an impressive image in any case. There's lots of detail remaining even as a silhouette, and so many compositional elements direct attention to the bird - quite an accomplishment. -tv

Good composition & kudos to the bird for the artistic pose. I really like the loose feathers on the sides.
