Sunrise

Welly Point Brissie Oz

I will have to find the original to PP again as I had to blur some artefacts out & it looks a bit girly now:-)

I think we all have to learn to clean our sensors with digital as it seems to happen quite regularly but it should have been cleaned in the refurb. For your use then the small size sounds just right & with the kit lens it's very light. They say to test for sensor dust is to set the camera on F16 or smaller & shoot a blank sky or wall as the F stop gets larger the dust blobs tend not to show up as much.

Today I'm taking it back on account of spots on the sensor. Never seen such things before and wouldn't have discovered them except for experimenting with your idea of "negative space" - plain space that shows off spots. I'll get a new one instead since they still seem to be available in spite of the newer XTI (400) - no more refurbished digicams for me. My only justification for buying a non-Nikon SLR is the small size and weight - to carry it around in my daily commute. The battery grip looks very practical but probably doubles the weight. -tv

Thanks Tommy:-) Good luck with the new camera, it feels a bit girly to hold so I put a battery grip on mine & it feels a lot better.

That moon looks bigger down there than here. Terrific exposure. You really get the most out of that camera. Just bought one "refurbished" so maybe I can compete on your turf. Now if only I could borrow your eye. -tv

Very potent negative space - Space between Earth and her Moon. Well done Rod.

Great shot m8. Love how the moon just anchors it. Nice grad in the sky and just enough of a sliver of land visible.
