Thanks Tech & Carole:-) The first few I took were lit by a window to my right & it did produce BHs so I unfolded me hanky & held it up to block the window light & the shot was too flat. So I decided to light it wiv me cigarette lighter, so I lit the lighter to get a focus & then clicked the shutter & moved the lighter up & down for part of the exposure. At long shutter speeds the exposure doesn't seem to change much from say 5sec to 10sec (reciprocity failure)(sp)

Really good one for the topic Rod and WOW, 13s! Did you have to take a bunch of shots to get the one that wasn't under or over exposed? Your bulb "elEment" does look tougher than the ones in the US but it still looks delicate. ;-) CJ

...you mean that was all in my imagination, not yours? C'mon admit you were being arty... or planning on it anyway. Or why the flame? There's even a hint of smoke in the background. -tv

Sometimes a well executed image takes a while to settle in. There's a transformation from simple electrical object to something else occurring that I couldn't nail down. Well finally it has settled for better or worse. The atmosphere you've created by the dark, warm tones give this common object a sense of wonder as if it were on display in a primitive environment illuminated only by open flamed torches, as in one of those futuristic post-nuclear war movies. Nicely thought out. -tv

My burnt out bulb may have not have fit the darkness challenge too well but your working bulb is delicate. -COAmature

I wonder if it's because we use 240v & not 110v as you do in the States. These seem to break just as easy though:-) Thanks mate:-)

I love it! But your elements look a lot tougher that the light-weights we use in the US.

Thanks again mate:-) I was having terrible trouble seeing a shot for delicate so I was glad this turned out. I used a cigarette lighter moving it up & down to create the highlights......brilliant a:-)
