Thanks for the suggestion, Techo. Done! It looks pretty good to me now. There is a bit of texture in the leaf that looks like noise but I don't think it really is. Cheers, -mikey

I've seen these around the yard, and they are the tiniest of spiders I've seen. I tried getting a few shots with the 100mm macro lens, and would have to really crop a lot of the pic to get a closeup view. The point of focus works really well here. Would only suggest some selective noise reduction on just the background itself.

That is definitely one tiny spidey! The legs are the delicate part for me. Britt

Thanks for the comment, Tom. I uploaded a different shot of this little fella (same time/session) and I'm thinking about the cropping advice and the unresolved issues, i.e. DOF, primarily. This is on the ragged edge of acceptability, seems to me. While I'm at it, I have to recommend the Sigma 150mm Macro lens for "tiny" stuff, tho there are numerous others, but I'm very happy with this one. I have learned that the f/2.8 is pretty much irrelevant tho, in that in order to get acceptable DOF (in a macro shot) I need f/11 or higher. This just barely fits the little fella into focus with nothing more left at f/9.5. Thanks again for the kind words of encouragement. Cheers, -mikey

I'be been hoping to find a good spider web but haven't, so yours will do for mine. There seem to be some unresloved technical problems in capturing such a diminutive creature, but the 'delicate' colors and "tiny" aspect of the spider offset them. I know I'm a cropping maniac, but it seems that this little guy could command a bit more presence if the stage weren't so huge. -tv
