That's the way Maurice the background with the yellow dots spread right across the frame look much better & the flower is the star attraction.

It looks way better now. Very good pp job with removing the bud.
Cheers!

Some PP work done and altered composition ~Maurice~

Yes I see what you mean, it looks different on my Monitor at work. I'll have to set up my home Monitor as it must be too bright!. I try and keep shots looking natural and have still a long way to go before I can be confident of what brightness/contrast adjustments can be made!. I'll try some PP tonight and I'm sure that bud will be history! ;)

Yes when taking close ups Maurice really look at the background when shooting as the background can make or break a shot. An simple increase in contrast would make this pop more. Well done anyhow:-)

Well said, Fred. For a moment I thought I was reading myself. There's room for pp improvement here, without a doubt. Don't throw it away, just work on it. -tv

A nice picture in many ways, but it appears a bit flat and the petals a bit too greyish. Some levels or curves might improve it. Also the central compo and the bud behind the flower makes it less appealing than it might have been.
