Good observation Rod, but I can't add much except to confirm that segmenting is used as a compositional technique. But I find that the four "quarters" have been unnaturally imposed by the blue ribbon. Without it, there are three divisions make more sense: left right and bottom thirds. I think I would have even tried to clone out the blue. -tv
