Hey, TomD & Tom. Yah, the tree bark turns from gray to this sort of orangey color on these Ponderosa pines when the tree reaches ~80yo. You can see the smaller ones in this pic are darker. This sign is on a chainsaw artists gate and there's another larger sign to the right explaining this, but its not nearly as cute as the bear. Cheers, -mikey

The trip to the city didn't last long. Nice sign, or is it woodsy art? The angle is a tease - I want to see more down the road, or was the light too harsh? -tv
