I tried your suggestion and found the result to look terrible. Feel free to post a reworked version in the forum thread to show me your interpretation. I actually like the depth of field and perspective effect of this image, but taste is a matter of taste ;) and I'd be interested to see what your version would look like.

IMO this would have been much more successful if skewed to flatten and eliminate the distance/3D effect. Good exposure.
