Thanks for all the comments. A number of suggestions were actually used to bring it to the state as posted. PP included skewing out converging verticals to maximize flatness plus some tweeking of levels, unsharp mask, etc, etc. -tv

What a wonderful image for an abstract. I don't live in NY but this would be my first pic for an abstract shot. I think you found the perfect image... Perhaps a little flat...but I think it is true to color and wonderfully done. jano

This is in my opinion, one of the best abstracts in the challenge. I know you didn't create the structure but, you found the abstract, composed and captured it in a way that is very suitable for this challenge. Markjay

Terrific image Tom! I don't have CS2 so no curves tool but Elements has "levels" and a few other tools which I tried on this image, and aam's suggestion has merit. Depends on what you like personally though Tom as this looks good as is, but if you like brighter, more contrasty images, it looks good that way too. Again, great shot! CJ

I think giving this more punch will spoil the abstract look as the colours & windows are now equal.

Curves in PS will give a punch if you ask me. Give it a try.

Colorful with great whimsy and it also looks so great in this line of abstracts. (They all play on each other and cause a visual delight!) shu

Great find Tom! I agree with Rod where he says this would've been good without the different colored areas, but with the colors it takes it up a whole other level :)
Can you get a little bit more space on the right side of the frame, such as on the left side?

Thanks for the comments all. It's one of the many newish buildings of the 42nd St revival.

That works really well, they do not look like windows on the thumbnail, very effective!

I love it! jano

Really good framing to get it all in like that, i like it.
Rod 29-May-2007 08:00
Even without the colours this would be a great abstract, well done mate:-)

Wow Tom, how come I can never find these great structures. Very nice. -COAmature

Even though we immediately know what this is, the bright graphic nature of the image makes it a powerful abstract as well. Good work.

Very cool! I had no idea that was in the city. I'll have to look for it next time I'm there!

How'd you get way up there? I got it from the ground. :)

Beautiful!

So very cool! Great shot! The colors add such a sense of abstraction, and the difference in the reflections in the windows is a nice extra.
